Bootcamp Day 3

It's day 3 of ttapp bootcamp and it was a tough day to get through.  Teresa says day 3 is the hardest and I believe her!  Day 4 is supposed to be the "break-thru" day we will see tomorrow!   I may need to go shopping for size 12's pretty soon!

Bootcamp

I did the total TTapp workout today and its the second day of my TTapp bootcamp.  I will go for one week doing the total workout and then go to every other day.  Today I got dressed for work and put on a pair of black dress pants.  They were a bit loose and I had been giving away my size 16 pants.  I thought the pair I had on today was a size 14, but they were so loose my mind kept going between the question "Are my pants a size 16 or 14?"  It bothered me,.... so right in the middle of the kitchen, I dropped my drawers so I could see the tag in the back, my jaw dropped, they are 14's!!!!  This means I am probably in a size 12 but I think I gave all my 12's away to a friend thinking I would never fit into a 12 again!  TTapp is amazing!  I have dropped another clothing size in about a weeks time!.....amazing.....simply amazing....

Total Workout

I am starting to get very serious about this project.  I have found a workout that is a total body workout.  I did Teresa Tapps Total Body workout (55 minutes) and it was very challenging!  The movements look simple but there is alot going on.  Comprehensive compound muscle movements that create neuro-kinetic flow....for starters.  All I can tell you about today is,... it kicked Bootyville!  I would imagine this is going to cause quite a stir in this town, hopefully causing them to pack up their belongings and move OUT!

Sunday Nite

Sunday afternoon already and tomorrow is just another workday.  I suppose I should be excited about Easter coming up next weekend.  I bought lots of candy for Jaryl and Marshall and a bag of Easter Almond M&M's.  Cute little pastel colored candy coated chocolate covered almonds.  Of course, as soon as I bought them and got out to the car with my two bags of healthy produce, I dug into the sack with all the easter candy and surfaced with "my bag" of Easter treats!   I was starving, and headed home munching on the chocolate covered almonds...as soon as I reached the driveway, I felt a little "issue" with eating that candy on an empty stomach!  I fixed myself a healthy fresh cut strawberry and greek yogurt dish and a whole wheat english muffin and cooked egg sandwich...we will see what the next couple of hours brings...I did T-Tapp this morning and have already noticed my clothes are getting bigger, my underwear hardly stays put anymore!

Another Day Done

Well, here I am another day done.  I did a two mile walk this morning and then the phone rang, it was my friend Janette and we talked for awhile. After talking to Janette, my phone rang again and it was my friend Kim and I talked for awhile longer while I fixed my brunch and my dinner to take to work.  So, I did not get anything more done then conversations with some fantastic and faithful friends and my exercise, well, I guess that was a great morning after all!....Another day done...

Hello World!

I have always wanted to say that, "Hello World!", so I thought why not tonight?  "Hello World", there I said it again!  I just got done with weight loss yoga and t-tapp abs and I feel like I want to shout to the world!  I feel fantastic tonight.  I had a great day at work, I walked for 10 minutes at work during a break on the treadmill in the exercise room, and when I got home I got to see the last 30 minutes of the Biggest Loser television show.  Then I did my workout and posted to my blog!....what a great day....

To The Limit

I pushed time to the limit this morning.  I did a "quickie" two mile walk and t-tapp abs, and got ready for work in 45 minutes.

Oh My Aching Back!

For some unknown reason my lower back is aching today.  I really did not do anything out of the ordinary to make it feel this way.  I walked 3 miles today indoors, "A Leslie", and instead of her "boosted walking" segments I just did "invisible jump roping".  I like jump roping, I would like to see how long I could jump rope with out dying....maybe that is why my lower back is aching ....I jumped rope today for about 10 minutes total.... oh, and some t-tapp abs!

The Other Side of the Mountain

I am on the other side of the mountain, meaning, I have crossed the halfway point and its all downhill from here.  I need to go in to the Doctor for a blood draw and have my number checked, and maybe a weigh-in (notice I said, "maybe").  I did a two mile walk today and my only T-Tapp dvd "Secrets to a Flat Stomach".....ssshhh, no I won't tell you, but you can come over here and I will show you!

Tapping, Tapping

I can't wait for my new T-Tapp dvd's to arrive in the mail.  All I have is her book which I am studying, every nite.  This morning I did a two mile walk, I don't think I will ever give that up!  Walking is one habit that is solid now and I really enjoy it!  The next 6 months I want to really concentrate on T-Tapp.  I feel Zumba is a passing fancy (hot at the moment) and I don't know if T-tapp will ever catch on for the multitudes or masses but I do know that it makes sense from the physical perspective, all you need to do to understand is educate yourself a little on the lymphatic system to appreciate T-Tapp!  I am trying to put together a Saturday workshop in May with a certified teacher and ten of my friends who are interested!  Today I also did 15 min of t-tapp flat stomach moves....Summer time here I come!!!......

Celebrate Halfway!

It is time to celebrate and celebrate BIG!  I am officially halfway through the Julie/Nancy Project and tomorrow I am on the downhill side of the mountain.  Today, I stand proudly at the top and raise my arms high to the heavens in praise of God who has kept me healthy so far.  I feel even more dedicated to making the last 6 months even better, working smarter, not harder.  I have learned so much about myself and have put my brain back in control of my body.  It was a self induced brainwashing, and I am not completely finished!  Today I did a 2 mile walk, "Leslie style" and did one set of t-tapp moves...I really, REALLY like Teresa Tapp moves and I feel, right now, it is big in the East and will, with time, migrate West.

With Every T-Tapp Move

"With every T-Tapp move, you use the full length of your muscles, plus you move mutiple muscles at once.  In fact, every exercise works five to seven muscles simultaneously, layer by layer from the inside out.  It is comprehensive muscle movement."  Most traditional exercises are isotonic, meaning they target one particular muscle, eg. traditional bicep curls.  A t-tapp bicep curl starts with placing your fist on your shoulder and bringing your elbow up to shoulder level (amrs out to the side and elbows behind your ears), now tighten as you curl up and uncurl (don't drop the elbow).  You are tightening bicep, tricep, delts, lats, and the traps.  Five muscles, full activation, full fiber use using your own body weight and resistance (no weights, no equipment).  It will build long lean muscles and you never have to do more than 8 repetitions to get results!
.....Tapped again this morning, along with a 2 mile walk!....

Hey!...Where did Saturday go?

I just got through with Sunday's post and noticed Saturday went AWOL!  Well, just to satisfy your curiosity, I went for a walk outside with my husband and our dog over to East Valley Middle School/ High School softball fields to watch Vanessa (Marshall's girlfriend) play in a softball tournament.  Probably a 15 minute walk over to the fields and a 15 minute walk home....Wah-La!....done-ski!!

I Have the Tapp Crazies

I have been going t-tapp crazy!  I want to take little bits of her workout and post them so, if you are following along, you have some idea of what I am talking about!  Lets start by saying it is a rehabilitative approach to fitness created by Teresa Tapp.  She spent nine years creating the moves and over two decades perfecting it.  Some would call it a fusion of dance, yoga, pilates and more, as it incorporates elements of each.  It can be done anywhere, you need only 4 square feet of space to do it in, and you do not need a single piece of equipment!  The moves look fairly simple, but there is alot going on in each move.  It helps the body rebuild primary body functions-such as neurokinetic flow, reseting glucose utilization rate, and lymphatic function...it is rebuilding from the inside out...I did 15 minutes of this workout tonight and 15 minutes of a walk dvd, but I am sending off for Teresa's 45 minute total workout dvd tomorrow!

Lumpy Bumpy

I finally recieved a book yesterday I ordered on the Internet, Fit and Fabulous in Fifteen Minutes by Teresa Tapp.  Naturally, I could not read it fast enough overnight and dive into it first thing this morning.  I wanted to know how to be fit and fab, now!  This exercise program relies heavily on the proper form for it to work, luckily it came with a dvd!  I popped in the dvd and did it twice to meet the minimum of 30 minutes, but there is alot more work to be done on the proper techniques and perfecting form.  I am getting close to the half way point of the Julie/Nancy Project (182.5 days), and although I have lost pounds and a clothing size, I still feel lumpy, bumpy.  I can't wait to see the results of the T-Tapp workout...

The Results Are In....

Yesterday I did an 8x4=32.  This was an experiment on the 8 minute series of exercises.  Eight minutes each of abs, legs, buns and arms.  Today, I report on the results and I will give it a soreness rating.  For the 8min abs, I would report a soreness factor of 4 out of 10, with 1 being the least amount of soreness and a 10 being the worst or most soreness, so overall I would say thats pretty good, I expected to be a little more sore.  As for the rest of the 8 minute series, legs, buns, and arms, I am feeling no soreness at all!  I guess I have been whipped into shape by Leslie, Jillian and Bob!  Today, I did 8 minute abs again but then added a 3 mile Leslie Walk to it.  I am going to try to add the 8 minute abs in to my everyday exercise routine.

8x4=32

I feel like I am giving a math lesson!  Today I decided to try 8 minute abs, piece of cake...then I did 8 minute buns,... I think I will feel the outcome of that one tomorrow.  So, to finish out my 30 minute workout, I did 8 minute thighs and 8 minute arms.  The outcome of that exercise experiment will be revealed tomorrow!

5+5=10

Its hard for me to believe that I walked 10 miles this weekend.   I did 5 miles last night and 5 miles again tonight.  I liked having new music to listen to, it seemed like I had a whole new exercise dvd!  I put in a Leslie Sansone dvd and muted it, then I downloaded new workout music to my computer and played the music from there.  I loved having new music to listen to, music is so motivating for exercise!

Life IS Good~!

I had a nice relaxing Saturday, how about you?  I spent some time this morning trying to figue out where to find, on my computer, a music download I bought.  I finally found it by accident, isn't that the way it seems to always go!  Well, then I had to conquer (figure out) how to unzip it and move it to a certain place...as my 18 year old son would say,  "Mom, let me explain it to you this way,....there are technological natives and technological immigrants..."  Finally by 10 pm, I decided to play my new exercise music on Windows Media Player while I watch my walk dvd on the television, muted.  I did a five mile walk to new music!...life IS good!

TGIF

I have spent a whole week on my new work schedule.  Yes, thats right, they changed it yet again.  I believe this is the fourth change since I have been there a year and a half.  I now work Monday through Friday 12:30 pm until 9:00 pm.  There is always a plus side and a minus side to everything, well, except Heaven.  The plus side is from a work performance perspective, it has improved significantly, my manager is happy with my statistics and I get to workout in the morning!  I can get some minor cleaning done, throw in a load of laundry, drink my morning in slowly along with my coffee and I don't feel rushed out the door before the sun rises.  The minus side is I hardly get to see my family. My teenage son is left with out parent eyes, is he too old for a babysitter at 18?  and I never get to see my husband, but I am not too sure what is really different there.  He is gone alot helping the world out as he was born to do.  So, I say "TGIF" and my exercise is done for the day (Weight Loss Yoga) and may my weekend be long and luxurious...

Double Portion

I can definitely identify I have fallen into a routine.  This morning I climbed into my exercise clothes, donned my shoes and socks, popped in the dvd and started to walk.  Half way into my first mile it occured to me that today is Thursday!  Now, you are probably thinking...."ok"...right....but this had me thinking "why am I exercising now?, on Thursdays I have an evening Zumba class!"  At this point I could have stopped the walk dvd and gone on my merry way but, I thought.."what the heck, I have already started to sweat and I have allotted the time....so, I finished a 3 mile walk, AND went to Zumba tonight....hence, a double portion!

Walking

I love walking, it is so basic and natural.  I suppose the whole reason I started my project was because if you don't move it, you lose it.  I spent time at my Mom and Dad's house with my Sister in September when this all came about.  My Sister and I had gone to see the movie Julie Julia and the idea for Julie Nancy Project stemmed from that movie.  However, what planted it firmly in my mind was the fact that I was headed down the same path as my Mother.  She has always had an issue with her weight and so have I.  She can barely move, and she has moved practically everything in her house within arms reach so she does not have to move...I did a 4 mile walk today and it felt marvelous!

Good Ole' Leslie!

I just love the simplicity of her walk dvd's!  While I am waiting for my T-Tapp book and dvd combo (I ordered used from Amazon), I will continue to walk everyday and add in some yoga and other things that I like, but I am not certain I will hit it so hard with weights anymore, maybe just using my own body weight and the proper form (point of perfection).  Today I did a 3 mile walk in the morning!  My schedule at work has changed and I don't go to work until 12:30 pm, which makes it easier to get the workout done for the day!

Introducing....

T- Tapp!... never heard of it before?....me either...until last Sunday.  My massage therapist, Dian, mentioned this after I was telling her about my exercise project and all the areas that are aching and tense!  She simply said, "Have you heard of Teresa Tapp? or T-Tapp?"  There are so many things in this world to see and learn and do, and I am having a hard time fitting them all in or at least trying them all, but this one I will spend some time learning about and trying.  It makes sense and if you google it you will see for yourself.  I gave this a try off of her site T-Tapp.com and of couse I did 30 min of looking and trying it all out!....very interesting...
