On Track

I am right on track today, I almost feel like I have my schedule back.  I got up, had my coffee, talked with my sister, and got my exercise clothes on.  I think I was exercising by 9:15 am.  I decided today would be an outside day.  The temperature is cool and the sky is overcast.  I used my interval timer and did 4 miles total doing the first two miles as a 2 minute walk  and a 1 minute jog.  Then for the second two miles I reversed it with a 1 minute walk and a two minute jog....I think I went about it a little backwards, as the second 2 miles was very tough!  I really must invest some money and get Jeff Galloways book on how to run injury free using the walk/jog method....after all, I bought his interval timer!

T-Tapp Tuesday!

T-Tapping with my sister on a Tuesday!  We did the Total Workout to tempo (40 minutes) and my sister kept looking at me and saying, "Is it almost over?", "Is this the last exercise?".  It made me laugh a sweaty laugh....

Jillian Monday

I went a little hard core today.  I broke out the Jillian Shred and unleashed her hardcore attitude on my post vacationing body.  It was taxing, I won't lie to ya!  But after the cheeseburger and onion rings I had last night at the Otis Grill,.... I knew that this week there would be "no messin around" if I want to stay in my size 10 clothes!  I did her level one shred workout and a Leslie 10 minute mile. I have a feeling I need to go back to salads and hard workouts for a week.

Father's Day Pilates

Can you tell by the title of this posting what time I worked out???  Pilates is my favorite late night workout at 11 pm and again, I was visiting with my sister out at Liberty Lake.  She is staying for one more week, but my vacation is over and I have to go back to work on Monday, so, I will have a schedule back.  Mari Winsor Pilates for 30 minutes and off to bed...late.

Saturday Nite

I remember this night very clearly.  I came home from my parents house after visiting with my sister at 10 pm and decided I wanted to do an outside walk.  It had been a warm day and the evening was cooling and wonderful.  I had recieved an interval timer in the mail for people who want to walk/run for a certain time period.  You pre-set it to beep and or vibrate every time you want to transition from walk or jog. I went out and did a 7 min walk/ 2 minute jog and really didn't know how to operate it.   I did a 1.7 mile loop and when I ended up at home, I took a minute to really read the directions!  I decided to reset the timer for a 2 min walk/ 1 min. jog and re-did the 1.7 mile loop again! All total, 3.4 miles.

Friday, Total Gym

This is about as far back that my mind came remember.  I remember doing a total gym workout.  My sister is visiting, my mom had knee surgery, I am on vacation from work and we are eating out almost every night!  I am having a great time, but it is a workout from hell nightmare!

Thursday?

Wow!, waaaay behind on the postings again.  When I come home and workout, often my 18 year old high school graduated son, who only has a part time job, is playing online with his x-box buddies from who-knows-where.  I can't get on-line to post my workout.  I used to send a short message from my cell phone, I may have to go back to that method!  So, I am only guessing on what I did on Thursday and I say, recumbent bike...

Wednesday Late Nite Pilates

Pilates is the perfect late night workout.  It is not too terribly taxing on your cardio, sending your heart rate through the roof, and it does not produce buckets of sweat.  I did 40 minutes of Mari Winsor Pilates, at 11 pm and went to bed!

Tuesday Recumbent Style...

Being on vacation is a wonderful thing, especially when your sister is visiting!  However, it has thrown my schedule waaaay off!  I should be getting up and doing my workout in the morning....but, I am on vacation, that means my mind is saying, "relax....you have all day to get it done......"  Needless to say, I have been doing "Late Night with Bootyville" workouts.  Its a great thing to sit "Bootyville" down on the "Lazy Boy with Pedals" and watch tv for 50 minutes.

Graduation Monday

Today is a big day for Marshall, he will graduate from High School!  I knew I would not see him much today as they have a practice session to attend and then there is all the running around with friends.  My sister and I made plans to get some things done around the yard.  I had a big raised bed garden box to fill with dirt and so we set out to get a yard of dirt.  All day long it was shoveling and dumping wheel barrows full of garden soil into the giant box.  Plenty of exercise, right???.....I battled mentally with, "could I let it count" toward my exercise for the day.  I had a short nap in the late afternoon, then it was off to the graduation ceremony for the evening.  It lasted for 1 and 1/2 hours and afterward I was starving!  We went to Applebees for a late "snack" and by the time I got home it was 11 pm. I still battling mentally with, "can I count it?" or " remember,..30 minutes of intentional!"  Intentional won and I did 30 minutes of intentional Pilates and went to bed!

Sunday Walk Walk

Today we are having a BIG graduation backyard bar-b-que for the graduating senior and the birds were up early!  They are always up before the sun singing their little hearts out and when the bedroom window is open it always wakes me up.  There was lots to accomplish so, My husband and I got up and started to prepare.  I know I walked all day in and out, up and down, and all around the house, had I been wearing a pedometer I know it would have shown a million miles!  But, after it was all done, and a little rest time, I went for a walk around the neighborhood as the sun went behind the hills.  It was such a fun day with friends and family!

Saturday Walk

This is a very busy weekend, because my siiiiiister came in from Colorado.  Her nefew (my baby boy) is graduating from High School!  There is always lots to be done, when the "fam" comes to visit.  I did a neighborhood walk and lately I have using my Ipod to step it up a notch.  I find that my steps are a little faster when I listen to music and I find that some songs just make me want to jog a little!

Recumbent Friday

I am way behind on my postings again but I have notated on paper what I did do so I don't have to "exercise" my brain trying to remember!  This day was a recumbent morning, coffee and news.  Nothing too difficult, but then again, it does not have to be a major undertaking everyday.

Take My Breath Away

That is the title of a really great song, and I don't believe they are singing about the kind of "workout" that involves tennis shoes, exercise clothes, and a sweatband!  I did the Biggest Loser Cardio Max workout level one and it took my breath away!  It was tough on me because I had done "Diva Derriere" right before it AND an ab workout so, when I went to do all those lunges( Bob's favorite move) my legs were shaking. Wowzer,... that was a tough one..... why do I do that to myself?

Double Digit Time

I can't believe that I am down to double digit time.  To be exact, 97 days of time.  I woke up this morning and checked in the mirror on my "Diva Derriere" and I discovered on the WAY to the mirror that my derriere is damaged!  My Bootyville has been hit by the "Dive Derriere" tornado.  I did a little 5 minute, on the floor, routine yesterday of T-Tapp movements called "Diva Derriere" and I discovered the damage this morning after rising from my bed, ouch!  Today I will 8 minute ab it, Diva for 5 minutes, and Total Gym the rest.

Hodge Podge

It was a hodge podge of whatever I felt like doing today.  I decided to give 8 minute abs a shot, the recumbent bike for 30 minutes and Diva  Derriere a sample try-out....it burned.  Day 98!  Somehow I feel I need to amp up the workout time for the last 100 days....

99 Days of Fitness to Go....

....99 days of fitness,...get up and go,...take it slow...99 days of fitness to go!  Remember that song?,...99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall?  I modified it and I believe I shall get up and sing it everyday until my project is done!   I feel addicted now to exercise.  The first thing I think about when I wake up is what kind of exercise I feel like doing today.  I have a variety to choose from now and I actually look forward to it (somewhat).  I like to mix it up so I don't get bored.  Today I started with a 30 minute Recumbent Bike ride and I plan to add to that with 30 more minutes of something else...maybe I will search for something on the internet....exercise can be found everywhere, all the time...

Flashback to the Sixties

I am totally enjoying a cd I found at my parents house on Saturday.  While helping my mom go through some of her things I found 2 cd's "The Classic Sixties Collection 1966, and 1968.  I may have to go back and find the rest of the collection!  The songs are great and take me back!  I was born 1960 and I remember these songs even though I was six and eight years of age.  The songs are the original artists... Born To Be Wild -Steppenwolf, I Heard It Through The Grapevine- Marvin Gaye, Chain of Fools- Aretha Franklin, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida Iron Butterfly, and one of my personal favs...With A Little Help From My Friends-Joe Cocker...I did my workout today on the Total Gym and a 30 minute Recumbent Bike ride.... I try with a little help from my friends,  It is so good to have Cindy going through this with me...

Sunny Saturday

There is always lots to do on the weekend, errands, finish projects, grocery shop, clean house, garden outside, help your aging parents out and if you are lucky to fit it in, a nap!  Well, I only managed about 3 of those on Saturday, ran errands (one was an eye exam), finished my mom's quilt (5 year project) and delivered it and while I was out there helped her move some things around and out to the trash!  It feels so great to have that quilt done and off my plate!  I have quite a few quilt projects to finish and I am going to work on my sisters quilt next.  Her quilt will be easy, it is a smaller lap quilt and I already have some of the blocks completed.  I went for a neighborhood walk after I got home from my parents house at 8pm.

Friday T-Tapp Treatment

I haven't done a T-Tapp for about a week now, maybe more, and I started to notice my lower back and shoulders have started to stiffen up.  I am so glad I stopped and did a T-Tapp workout, it really did help the situation and helped me get some movement back into some body parts!  It was like a "breath of fresh air" to my muscles and joints.  I did the T-Tapp Total to Tempo, meaning, 8 reps of everything at a faster pace, stopping for water only twice, and done in 40 minutes!

YaHoo!

It is a sunny day and I am done with my exercise for today!  That deserves a giant YAHOO!....I did the coffee and "Lazy Boy" bike for 45 minutes at an easy pace to warm up and then I did a total gym workout, not a bad start to a sunny day!

Experiment Wednesday

Today I decided rather than lay in bed and watch the news, I would sit in my "Lazy Boy with Pedals", drink coffee and catch up on what is happening in the world.  I wore my heart monitor to see if I would get into the "zone" for fat burning.  I love my little monitor, it lets me know many things but I love the BPM (Beats Per Minute).  There is a zone, that if you stay within it will produce the most fat burning.  I rode the bike for 60 minutes, just perfect!  I watched the news, had my cup of coffee, and got my exercise done all before 9 am!

Leslie Tuesday

I haven't done a "Leslie" in quite some time and although it was sunny outside, I popped in her dvd and did a 3 mile walk.  Her dvd walking program, I believe, works me a little harder that a street walk with all the upper body movement, leg lifts, and side to side movements. I have been babying my ankle since I tweaked it a couple of weeks ago during a walk/jog session.  It was during one of my walking times that I stepped a little funny and pinched or twisted a little ligament in my ankle.   It gave me fits for two weeks so I have been staying away from the "pavement" training.

Total Gym Monday

It is Memorial Day and I went to work for 5 hours.  It was really slow at work, but it was a rainy Memorial Day and I had no regrets going to work and getting paid extra to sit.  I worked from 10 am to 3 pm, came home and did a Total Gym workout before the Bachlorette came on....Oh Ali,  I am so glad you got rid of Toronto Craig...he can ride the "I Love Me" train all the way back to Canada!!!

Lazy Boy with Pedals Sunday

On Sunday, after Church, we loaded up my old stationary bike and gave it a new home at Cindy's house.  She had just cleaned her basement and cleared herself a space to exercise.  She already has a treadmill, and found a tv for her walking and t-tapp dvd's, now she has a staionary bike to add to her collection of equipment!  When we got back from the delivery, I went for a quick walk around the "hood" and later got on my "Lazy Boy with Pedals" recumbent bike.  I love that little bike!

Saturday- Recumbent Bike

While in pursuit of the Total Gym on Friday's Craig's List hunt, I found stationary Recumbent bike for sale for $30.00 in Chewelah.  I did some quick calling and secured a Saturday pick-up for that little item.  My husband rolled his eyes and groaned a little when I told him where we were going on Saturday and "what for" but I convinced him he would be speaking my "love language", Quality Time, while we were in the truck.  We did have a nice ride up there talking over many of the things we never have time to discuss for any length of time.  I have discovered that a nice long car ride is good communication time, someone should invent a counseling service that involves sitting in a car!  When we got back with the bike, up to my room it went and found its new home at the end of my bed.  I turned on a Saturday movie and jumped on for a 1 hour ride...only burning 165 calories?....really?....thats what my new bike said.

Friday-Craigs List

I did some shopping on Friday.  Craig's List had some fantastic deals on exercise equipment.  I found a Total Gym 1100 for $80.00 that was newer and had more accessories than the one Jaryl owns and so, I went in pursuit of it.  I called and called until I got an answer but by that time she was being offered $100.00.  I told her I would pay her that amount, within the hour, with cash!  I went and picked it up and of course it took all of my morning to arrange all of this escapade.  I brought it home and dashed off to work...needless to say I worked out on it after work at 9:30 pm.  Total Gym 1100 workout for 30 minutes.
