Weight Loss Yoga
I did the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga tonight and it is almost midnight. I was sooo tired when I came home from work tonight so I laid down on the dining room floor and feel asleep. My mind kept on saying "Get up and get your exercise done!" but the old bag of bones were unwilling.
Speedy Gonzales
Sunny weather and an outside speed racy walk...I walked to the limit of walking, the speed that is still walking just before you break into a slow jog. You might be asking yourself, "why"?....the answer is, "I don't know." Maybe it was a combo of things, I needed to get done fast, I didn't want to jog because my knee was hurting a little, and I wanted to see if I could do it.

Thirteen Cents
I made a profit today on my walk/jog. I wish I had started a jar for all the money I have collected from the streets. I know I have blogged about it everytime I have found money, so I could go back and find out, but having it all in a jar would have been alot easier. I keep thinking,...are every neighborhood streets littered with money? I wonder how much I would make if I started a trek across the United States through neighborhoods? Anyway, my exercise was profitable but sweaty. I took my interval timer and reset it for a TWO minute jog (instead of one minute) and a two minute walk, and yes, I really felt the extra minute of jogging especially toward the end, it was more like lumbering...not pretty...

On Top Of It Tuesday
Today was an overcast morning and a needed break in the summer heat. It is threatening rain and a little breezy so I decided to "take it outside". I went for a walk jog but forgot my interval timer, so I winged it. I walked till I felt warmed up muscles and the I let her fly with a jog. I jogged until I felt like I was lumbering then went back to a walk. After I got comfortable again and felt recovered, I jogged. I know I mostly jogged the "walk" and I know I fulfilled my activity target of 30 minutes....32 minutes to be exact! And a same day blogger, I am on top of it today!

Hooray! Its Monday!
Today is Monday and I am actually blogging on the same day! I feel like I have worked out although I have not. All I can say is that I have had a blogging workout, brain workout, and a typing workout, and I haven't even worked out! So, when I actually do workout, I will let you know...I will blog it, hopefully today and not tomorrow!...See ya later...it is now 11:11 pm and I just finished my little weenie walking workout. It is Bachlorette nite and the guys tell all! Then a special 20/20 tv show about after the final rose and behind the scenes. P.S.,.... I had to kick my son off the computer to finish my blog...
Sunday Pilates
It was just last night that I did a pilates workout! That means my "catch up" blogging is DONE! So, here we are on Sunday July 25th and I waited until late again to peel my self up off the couch and exercise. Jaryl and I went to church, came home, ate lunch, and watched the movie, "Invictus". After the movie Jaryl decided to take on an Insanity workout and I settled into cleaning the kitchen and bathroom floors and vacuuming the carpet. After his shower and "cool down" we went back to the church to bar-b-que some chicken because our "que" is broken and we do not have the money to get a new one right now. We grilled 24 pieces of chicken that we marinated and "oh-my" was it yummy! We came home and I watched the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" I have seen it before, so I do not know why I felt compelled to watch it again, I think I like the casual and sarcastic way they talk to each other all while trying to kill each other...
Guess What?
I went back to the same ole', same ole' walking. It is now Saturday the 24th and I must have waited until late in the night before I decided to do anything about my exerising. I do remember doing yardwork with my husband in the morning, eating lunch and then heading out to my parents house to help them with shopping and such. It was a long day and I went for a late night walk. It does feel really good to walk on a Summer night, it is so cool and I love the sound of crickets. I have fond memories of when I was a kid sleeping at night with my windows open in the summer and falling asleep to the sound of crickets, after a long hard day of playing in the lake.
AH HA! Something New!
This posting is for July 23rd and I did something totally new and unexpected..a Total Gym Workout! It has been walk, walk, walk, now for several days and I wanted to work all my muscles. It felt really good to wake up the next day and really feel like you did a workout when you move a muscle and it is a little sore. Ok, it may sound a little strange to wake up feeling a little sore and you really like it...that's strange...I may be a little weird.
July 22nd...Thursday
Walk,...thats all I remember, just a plain ole' walk....boring posting. I know the reason it was just a walk and thats because my shins were hurting a little (shin splints) from the night before.
July 21st and I am Getting Closer...
This is not quite as much fun, playing "posting catch up", as posting each day. This day I did an hour walk/jog. I VTO'd from work (Volunteered Time Off) because of the slow call volume and went home while it was still light out. There was nothing good on tv to watch so I had lots of time and great weather to go for a nice long walk/jog. I wore my interval timer and it was set for two minutes of walking and one minute of jogging. I also wore my body bugg to see how many calories I would burn. It was a profitable walk for me, not only did I burn up 467 calories, but I also made .27 cents! While going past the middle school I found .25 cents on the sidewalk. Then I found a penny here and a penny there...pennies from heaven!
July 20th...Here I Come!
So, playing catch up on blogging really sucks. I really am a "hater" of my procrastination habitation. Is habitation a word?...yes, it is, I just looked it up, it is a "dwelling place" Well, isn't that fitting? Procrastination, to put something off till later, habitation, a dwelling place. Yes, I seem to dwell in putting things off until later. I have so much to change about myself and so little time left to accomplish it. I'll be fifty soon and I still have bad habits to correct...*sigh* So, a week ago I did a walk jog thats all I seem to know about my exercise on this day, and the only reason I know this is because I wrote it down...
Getting Closer But Way Behind
Today it is actually Monday July 26th but I am actually posting a blog entry for Monday July 19th. I am getting closer to the end of my exercise project (50 days left) but I am way behind this time on my postings. I hate this catch up feeling. I am applying the same laziness to blogging as I used to apply to exercise, a "do it later" attitude. Should I apply a "Blogging Project" to my "Exercise Project"?? Well, anyway, I am here on a Monday present to say what I did on a Monday past was Yoga, the Biggest Loser kind of weight loss yoga, it felt really good to stretch out my muscles.

Breaking the Habit
Tonight I went for just a plain ole' walk outside. I didn't wait for darkness but the sun was just dropping behind the hills and it was definitely cool and refreshing. It was good to be able to see the road and watch my steps. I do get a little worried sometimes when it is dark and I am out jogging that I might twist my ankle on some little bump in the road. I probably will adjust my time a little from now on just for the peace of mind...
Saturday Is Ditto of a Friday Repeat
Walking and jogging around the neighborhood in the cool of the night. I guess I am just waiting for the first rainy weather to put a stop to my walking jogging routine. I am supposed to be doing a T-Tapp boot camp for 14 days but it is so hard to stay inside and watch a dvd when the weather is so beautiful!
Thursday July 15th
It was run jog time in the cool night air. I am starting to like going out on a cool summer night for my exercise time. Not only is it cool, but it is quiet and there is very little traffic. I have been going for "walk/jog" intervals. I do two minutes of walking and one minute of jogging for two miles. Very soon I will up the jog time to two minutes.

Whoa!... Leslie on a Summer Day?
What is this????....Leslie Sansone on a Summer evening??? Well, truth be told, it was almost midnite before I got around to it and I did not think I should got outside for a "hood" walk. I am so afraid sometimes that I might go "missing". As I get older, I realize that I would not be able to out run or out wrestle...
Breaking the Cycle
The past 3 days it was walk, walk walk... so, today I broke the cycle and did a 45 min recumbent bike ride. It was a night ride and I was curious to see what kind of calorie burn I would achieve. The calories burned did not amount to much for all the sweat it produced! I think it was only about 100 calories, I should have written it down.

walk on a Monday..... It is sooo nice to be able to walk outside. Winter is coming and all my walking will be inside, so, outside I shall go into the wild blue yonder...

Thats it really, just a walk on a Saturday. I can remember Dr.Oz stating on a t.v. show, "just a 30 minute walk everyday".... done-ski

Spookie Ookie
I went for a walk tonight and it was super spookie ookie! I always walk faster at night and I am super alert for every noise, shadow, and voice. I came home from my parents house and it was late. I watched my husband do the Insanity workout (Cardio Recovery), not too difficult, but I did drop out of the Insanity before the knee gets worse and decided a cool evening walk would be just about right after a hot 93 degree day!

Back In the Saddle Again
I have to start out by stating that I feel like I have gained a little puffiness around my middle lately. I have been out of my routine since June 12th. My sister came to visit and we had Marshall's graduation from High School, my mom's knee surgery and a flood....I have kept up with my exercise and my food has been good (but not routine healthy). I haven't done T-Tapp consistently since June and I feel like my lymph system is sluggish, hence the puffiness? So, today I got back in the T-Tapp saddle again and I will do a 14 day boot camp of the total workout and brush my skin. It will be a great test to see if it reduces the "fluff'. I used my body bugg to track the calories burned for a T-Tapp total workout and it was 160 cals. in 40 min.
Walking Insanity
Today I started out with a walk. I went out, did a spin around the hood one time (2 miles) and came home. I did not push too hard on my walk, I wore my body bugg and I wanted to see how much I would burn if I just did a nice moderate pace for 2 miles. I burned about 150 calories. I figured I would be trying out day 2 of Insanity later in the day, so I just went easy on the walk. I pop in day 2 of Insanity, "Cardio Power and Resistance" and did what I feared,...hurt my knee....ice and a knee brace for the rest of the night...oh and I only burned about 250 calories for all that torture and sweat.
INSANITY!!!
Whose IDEA was it to purchase this horrible workout??!!... The very first day they have you doing a tough plyometric cardio circut workout... I almost died after the warm up!!! "Shaun T.", the creator of this crazy workout, gives you a series of plyometric moves, (lots of jumping), and you start out doing them fast....and then he gets faster, and just when you think (or hope) it will end,... he goes faster... remember when I said I just watched my Mom go through a total knee replacement and how I was going to protect my knees from harm?...yeah, we will see about that...Shaun T.
July 5th Walk-Jog
OK! now this is something I can handle...a little walk/jog around the hood...twice! I used my interval timing device and did a 1 minute walk and a 1 minute jog for 4 miles. Tomorrow, I will try the first day of the Insanity workout....
July 4th Fit Test
For Father's Day my husband mentioned he would like to do the "Insanity" workout, so we purchased it on-line. There is a fit test they want you to take before starting the program, so while the house was empty of on-lookers I popped it in the dvd and gave it a try....I have only one word to say,......sad.
Saturday, July 3rd
Walk. It has been my go to solution when I am busy during the day and going back and forth between my parents home and my home. I did purchase a new little device to help me keep track, it is called a Body Bugg. It will track how many calories I burn during the day.
Friday July 2nd
Well, I am way behind again in posting, but I have a good reason! I have been very busy helping out at my parents house and I have been coming home very tired. I am fitting in my exercise time and this day was a walk. Walking can be done anywhere and it is free.

Phew!
Today is Thursday and guess where I am going?, back to the wreckage, to clean and organize. My dad keeps asking me, "Where did all my stuff go?"... I started today with exercise because it is going to be another long, long,....did I mention, long day. My Mom comes home tomorrow from rehab. and I don't think they had her practice climbing over piles of stuff at rehab. So, the goal today is to clear a path to her bed and the bathroom..... Iam so glad I can walk in a healthful way, and this whole experience has me guarding my knees from any harm....I did the recumbent bike for 30 minutes....YEAH KNEES!
Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig...
It was a long, long, day and evening getting my Dad, and two cats settled back in to the "flood damaged" and restoration tornado wrecked house. I went thru dads room with a fine tooth comb, cleaning and organizing....I'll have to add to this blog later....at 11:30 pm Pilates.....
Night Walk
By now it is Tuesday and it is the morning after my sister left for home. We have had a very "hary kary" couple of days dealing with a flood in my parents house which started last Saturday morning. Calling in the troops for all the restoration to try and save the sub-flooring, and carpeting. It did destroy the pergo floor in the kitchen and the padding under the carpet. It also soaked up the walls in several rooms and it will require some remodeling. My Mom is in rehab for knee surgery and I am dealing with my Dad and two cats. Let me re-phrase that my dad with out cognative reasoning and one friendly cat. What about the other cat you ask?...one word- feral... All, I could muster this day for exercise, or better yet, this night- late night, was a walk

What can I say?, its my "go-to" choice to squeeze in my 30 minutes after a full day of "round-to-its"
Friday Walk Jog
We have had some beautiful weather and I try to go out and exercise as much as possible. Winter sends us all inside to exercise and so I look forward to Spring and Summer for the outside exercises. Today it was a walk jog combo around the neighborhood.
Thursday- Bike Ride
My sister came over to exercise and instead of going for a walk she annoumced, " Get out your bikes and pump up those tires!" After all the years she has come to visit, she had NEVER been on the Centennial Trail! So, I did what my BIG sister told me to do, and off we went for a ride on the trail. I wish we had the whole day to ride but schedules are always demanding, especially that money maker called work.... We rode from my house over to Pines Rd. and to Sullivan Rd. and back.
